Whistleblowers UK (WBUK) is an organisation of whistleblowers and their supporters, established to provide advice and support to those who are considering acting on their conscience.
WBUK's members have come from many different walks of life, jobs and professions, and our numbers are growing. Almost all have risked a great deal to bring important information to the public's attention. Many with the courage to speak out have experienced great difficulties and faced personal retribution for exposing injustice or corruption.
Their backgrounds include the NHS and private medical care, military and security, financial and regulatory organisations, police and government. Some members have been in the media and are publicly known – others are not.
Please direct media enquiries to Gavin MacFadyen, spokesperson for Whistleblowers UK, on firstname.lastname@example.org.

To assure our independence we do not accept funding from either national or local government, law firms, banks, business or the media. We are not interested in selling stories or making money from any disclosures (this includes any print, broadcast or online media outlet). For this reason, we have no association with “whistleblowers' agencies” and we are not connected to any print, broadcast or online media outlet.
We have no association with business-financed groups seeking compromise, in-house accommodation and gagging orders, where the whistleblower is exposed in front of the very people he or she has blown the whistle against.
Currently accepting submissions of whistleblower leaks ?
Not really, this is a support network which will put potential whistleblowers in touch with trusted journalists and experts, including psychological counsellors.

Practical Advice on preserving Whistleblower Anonymity
Leak Submission Encryption
Digital Certificate fingerprints published on their website:
No - no SSL
Qualsys SSLLabs SSL Server Test rating:
PGP Public Encryption Key
TOR Hidden Service
Hushmail Secure Form
Content Delivery Network
Content Delivery Networks can provide scalable multimedia bandwidth and resistance to Denial of Service attacks, but sometimes this comes at the price of extra tracking and reduced anonymity for whisteblower sources.
Leak Submission Anonymity
Some of these techniques are appropriate for a normal website like this wiki, but not for whistleblower or tipoff websites, where potential whistleblower source anonymity protection should be paramount:
TOR users blocked from access
3rd Party or persistent tracking cookies or graphics
CAPTCHA graphics generated from another website e.g. GoogleRe-Captcha
Mixed mode non-SSL graphics or style sheets
Embedded video clips or deep linked graphics etc. from another website e.g. YouTube
Flash file uploader class
Communications / Acknowledgement back to the whistleblower via the website
Acknowledgement of receipt of information
e.g. file upload success indicator - has the leak message or upload actually been received successfully ?
Leak analysis work flow status reporting
e.g. Has anyone actually looked at what the whistleblower has submitted ?
Private message box
e.g for 2 way communications back to the anonymous whistleblower, asking for clarification, offering advice etc.
Domain Name Resilience
The threats of legal court proceedings against Domain Name Registrars and Domain Name Service providers are lessons which WikiLeaks.org emulators should take note of:
Domain Name Registrar
Not registered in United Kingdom, therefore slightly more resilient to legal takedown threats.
Registrar Bluehost.com, in the USA
Multiple Internet Service Providers, in different legal jurisdictions ?
IP address: 188.8.131.52 Host name: whistleblowersuk.org Alias: whistleblowersuk.org 184.108.40.206 is from United States(US) in region North America
Domain Name Server(s) & jurisdiction(s)
ns2.bluehost.com [220.127.116.11] ns1.bluehost.com [18.104.22.168]
